::6/14/05 TOURING!!!
Hey we're
off on tour starting Thursday morning, the 16th! We're collecting
VHS tapes to watch in the van for those long drives. We'll have a Tour Diary
up HERE which we'll
hopefully update regularly with pictures and stories.
We'll get the EPs while we're on tour, so we'll probably have those by the
Philly show. If you happen to have a free bed or a sandwich and see us
trolling about, we'll gladly take them in exchange for...well...I don't know.
Something. Hope to see you all within the next few weeks!

::6/02/05 Album Delay and More Tour Stuff
So the
album release has been pushed back to June 14th from the 7th,
mostly because we're lazy and unorganized and busy with tour planning.
Speaking of the tour, our pal Joe from Dirty
On Purpose designed us a
snazzy tour poster. If you live in any of the cities we're moving through,
feel free to download the PDF file here

town! Hell, you might even get a free t-shirt.

Winter Set EP is now finished and will be sent off for pressing Monday.

Studio Time and Merchandise
So, we're finishing up the EP! It looks like
the tracklisting will tentatively
be...

The demos for Smoke Break and Cowboys will
be changed and re-
mixed on the EP, so look for new and better versions of those. Allison
is gonna be crazy; Ryan's bass has some crazy fuzz on it (a result of
intentional clipping in ProTools), and Mediterranean is gonna
be very
pretty. I'm working two jobs right now to save money for the tour and
merchandise.
Speaking of merchandise, we have some really hot t-shirts we'll be
putting up in a merchandise section very very soon! Two different shirt
designs, and possibly a third. We'll also have the EP done
and pressed
this month, and pins and whatnot too. Still working on slap bracelets,
panties, and umbrellas.
Jeremy will be back from Gay Paris soon and tour rehearsals will start
on June 4th or so. Tour starts around the 15th, I think. We'll post the
dates soon, SO WATCH OUT! (here comes the tide)

EP and Summer Plans
Recording started last night for the remainder of The Winter
Set EP. We
recorded drum tracks for 4 songs (Mediterranean, Home, Allison, and
Advice) with the assistance of resident engineer Zack. He'll be recording
the remainder of the time with us, and we're gonna really clean up/fix
the songs that were originally recorded.
Josh is going crazy booking the summer tour. Poor boy. While he's doing
that, I'm planning for an onslaught of merchandise. T-Shirts, Stickers,
Slap-Bracelets, you name it. They should all be ready (and
the EP, of
course) by mid-June, right before the tour. We'll probably put together a
street team by then, so if you're interested in getting some free swag,
sign up for our mailing list that doesn't even exist yet. Okay? Okay.

4/02/05 Bonnie Prince Billy, Matt Sweeny, and the amazing EGG
On April 8th, we'll be playing with Bonnie
Prince Billy and Matt Sweeny, who
have
teamed up to make a really good album/project called "Superwolf."
People who come to the show will also be treated to an amazing short
called EGG, which won the Slamdance Festival's Grand Jury Prize for best
animated short in January '05. You can watch a clip of the film here.
We're also gonna be hitting up the studio extra heavily to record new
material, like "Mediterranean," and old songs we should have recorded
during the first recording stint, like "Home For Me and You."
More
shows should be confirmed soon for the end of April and into the
month of May...and let's not forget about that June '05 tour.

:: 3/06/05 Super Mario and The Flesh
Even after the tragic death of Peter's truck, he kept composure, only crying
during the songs where he didn't have to do much involved drumming. We
played a couple of fun shows this weekend. We had to sign sexual conduct
papers at Antioch College. Peter refused to sign. Of course, he was in no
condition anyway. Had a good time with The Flesh, who are still here and
eating Totino's pizzas. Next up is the Asobi Seksu, Dirty on Purpose show
on
Wednesday. Ah, Kentucky. You know they ain't gonna make you sign no
sexual conduct papers.

2/27/05 Donkey Kong
The Winter Set played a guerilla hit-and-run show in the lobby of a Student
Dorm on Friday. We made it through quite a bit of the set before it was
shut down, and we had a large crowd (around 100 people, maybe?), so I'd
consider it a decent return show after a two month hiatus.
We
have a handful of other shows coming up in the near future that were
really excited about. We'll be playing with some of our favorite bands, like
Asobi Seksu, The Flesh, and Dirty on Purpose this month, and other dates
will be
added on all the time. I'd look for a few more show confirmations
within the week.
